Further arrests in Gainsborough as police continue drug crackdown

Three people – aged between 17 and 28 – have been arrested as part of a continuing crackdown on drug problems in a Lincolnshire town. Two unrelated warrants were executed in Gainsborough on Wednesday, January 10, following investigations into the supply of drugs in the town.

The first warrant, carried out at a property in Clinton Terrace, led to the arrest of a 24-year-old man on suspicion of being concerned with the supply of class-A drugs and assaulting an emergency worker. A second warrant targeted a home in the south of the town, where Lincolnshire Police officers seized what were believed to be class-A drugs, a spokesperson said.

A 17-year-old boy and a 28-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of being concerned about the supply of class-A drugs. All three remain in custody, where detectives will question them.

A spokesperson for the force said: “The cases are being treated as separate investigations, but we will keep an open mind as they progress regarding whether there are any links.

“Proactive work like this is a result of the hard work of the local officers and staff and the cooperation of our local community in providing information about suspected illegal activity in their area.”
