More than 200 cannabis plants have been seized after police raided a property in Gainsborough. A warrant was carried out at the address in Trent Street just before 10am on Wednesday, January 18 following tip offs. Specialist officers found the plants over two floors.

The electricity had been bypassed, which has now been made safe. A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a class B drug and suspicion of cultivating cannabis plants.

He has been released on police bail while the investigation continues. Officers and forensics experts remained on site throughout the day clearing the grow, gathering evidence and carrying out enquiries in the local area.

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: “Investigations are now ongoing by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). We would appeal for anyone with information which might help our investigation to get in touch with Detective Constable C Ravi Singh quoting incident number 63 of January 18, or call 101 and ask for extension 3295242.”
