Crow’s Eye Productions, a local production company, needs your support

Crow’s Eye Productions have been making films on dress history for our channel for 6 years. We are ambitious to do more for you, but sometimes the films cost more than we can ever hope to make from them, so we now need your help.

Two years ago we made a film based on a chapter from Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, it was a dressing video which gave us a jumping off point into drama. We knew that we could never recover the costs, but it was a joy to make, and we hope you loved it too.

Now we would like to look at the clothing of Mr Darcy and how he might have dressed and looked. Pride and prejudice is really an 18th century novel. Twenty-one-year-old Jane Austen wrote it between 1796 and 1797, though it was not published until 1813. Most productions quite reasonably set the events in the period of the book’s publication, but it is more interesting to peel back the layers and look at it through 18th century eyes, and to see Darcy as the twenty-one-year-old Jane might have imagined him.

We will return to the same wonderful cast and crew as before, but with the addition of the brilliant young actor, Jordan Walters, as Mr Fitzwilliam Darcy. We will create the dressing video, followed by a key bit of the drama. If we raise more than the minimum, then we will be delighted to film more scenes.

Thank you so much for reading this and thank you so much for your support over the years.
