Upton residents can enjoy free fish and chips on Friday 10th February, thanks to rural broadband provider Quickline.
Upton Fish and Chip Shop, in High Street, has teamed up with Quickline to give residents a lift at a time of year when the weather is cold and the nights are long.
The gesture comes as Quickline brings its fast and reliable full fibre broadband services to Upton, providing game-changing internet speeds for residents and businesses.
Julian Chalk, Quickline’s Head of Enablement and Engagement, said: “We’d love as many residents as possible to have a cheer-up chippy tea on us and enjoy a treat at what can be a challenging time of the year.
“We know times are tough and the cost of living is rising for many people and this is a small gesture from us to help out and lift spirits.
“We love getting involved in all sorts of community events and initiatives and this fish and chips giveaway is another example of us giving back to the rural areas we serve.”
Upton is among the latest communities to be offered fast, reliable broadband by Quickline as it continues its rollout across rural areas in North and West Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire and Lincolnshire.
Quickline will be sharing details on how residents in Upton can register for their free chippy tea on its social media channels.
Each voucher will cover one portion of fish and chips.
Once residents have registered and received their voucher, they can simply turn up at Upton Fish & Chip Shop on February 10th to receive their free portion.
Sally Clarke, owner of Upton Fish & Chip Shop, said: “We’re delighted to be teaming up with Quickline to offer free fish and chips to people in Upton. We’ve had the chippy for 16 years, when the shop came up for sale at auction and we were the winning bidder.
“When Quickline got in touch with us to ask if we’d be interested in supporting the scheme, it was a no-brainer – who doesn’t love fish and chips on a Friday, especially when they’re free!?
“If you live in Upton, make sure to register for a voucher and don’t miss the chance to get your free chippy tea!”
