Partygate: Sir Edward Leigh, MP for Gainsborough, asks for “a sense of proportion”

While the Prime Minister and 10 Downing Street are being investigated by the MET Police, and Sue Grey should be releasing her report tonight to the PM, today, the MP for Gainsborough, Sir Edward Leigh has tweeted: “When Europe stands on the brink of war and with a cost of living crisis, can we please have a sense of proportion over the Prime Minister being given a piece of cake in his own office by his own staff.”

Lesley Rollings, Chairman of the Gainsborough Lib Dems, and former parliamentary candidate at the last general election for the Gainsborough Constituency replied: “This statement shows you have no understanding of the sacrifice, pain and grief experienced by people right across our country. Our MPs should be setting an example not trivialising crimes that others were punished for. @thelincolnite#ToryCovidCatastrophe#ToryCorruption“
