£3,000 robbery at Browns

A man has been charged following an alleged robbery at a store in Gainsborough.

It follows an incident at Browns, in Marshall’s Yard, at around 3 p.m. yesterday (8 June), when around £3,000 worth of high-value perfume was taken.

Our officers were deployed within minutes and swiftly arrested 42-year-old Darren Nicholls close to Marshall’s Yard.

Nicholls, from Apley Close in Gainsborough, was charged with robbery just before 4 p.m. this afternoon (9 June). He is due to appear at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Following the incident, we have recovered a hammer and a large quantity of perfume.
