Noble Foods Gainsborough colleague makes finals at National Poultry Awards

Noble Foods, the UK’s leading egg producer, is celebrating Teigan Clark, a colleague from its Poultry business in Gainsborough, for reaching the finals of the National Egg & Poultry Awards 2024.

Teigan, who began working at Noble Foods at just 16 years old during her school holidays, has been recognised in the ‘Young Processor of the Year’ category after making significant strides in her career. Initially planning to join the police force, Teigan soon realised her passion for the work at Noble Foods, prompting her to leave college and pursue a full-time position. Her journey from an Operative in the packing room to a Plant Inspection Assistant (PIA) has showcased her determination and the supportive environment available at Noble Foods.

“I enjoy working in the Poultry business because we put so much care into what we do,” she shared.

“All of my colleagues are friendly and welcoming. Some of the people I work with have so much experience and have been with Noble Foods for a long time, so I’ve learned a lot since I started.”

The National Egg & Poultry Awards is a prestigious ceremony backed by the British Poultry Council (BPC), the British Egg Industry Council (BEIC), and the National Farmers Union (NFU). It honours and reflects achievement, excellence, and best practice in the sector while promoting the industry and providing networking opportunities for sector members.

In addition to being a finalist at the upcoming awards, Teigan’s dedication and hard work have not gone unnoticed by her colleagues. Awarded her PIA by Sarah Dean, Owner and Chair of Noble Foods, along with Duncan Everett, Noble Foods’ CEO, she is now the youngest PIA in the country, a significant achievement she hopes will inspire other young women to consider careers in agriculture.

Her career progression is also marked by personal milestones, such as earning enough to pay for her driving lessons, boosting her confidence and independence. Starting as an Operative and quickly moving up, she has taken on roles usually reserved for more experienced individuals, showcasing her exceptional capabilities.

Teigan is currently pursuing a Level 2 apprenticeship in Food and Drink, while her long-term ambition is to train and encourage other young people to consider the great variety of jobs in the agriculture sector.
