Pensioner dragged to the floor in Sandsfield Lane robbery

A woman in her 70s was ‘dragged to the floor’ before her purse was stolen in Gainsborough, police say. Lincolnshire Police is investigating a robbery that happened around 4.30pm on Monday, August 21 in the Sandsfield Lane underpass and Rec Hill area of Gainsborough.

The force has released a picture of a woman officers wish to speak to in connection with the incident. A spokesperson for the police said: “We received a report that a woman in her 70s has been dragged to the floor from behind and had her purse stolen. “If you can help with the identity of the woman in the image or have any information that will assist the investigation team, we would like to hear from you.

We appealed yesterday 24th of August for information to help us identify a woman in connection with a robbery reported in Gainsborough. Thank you for your support and shares. The woman has now been identified.
